Since 1988, Michael Baron and Glynn Dowdle have completed construction projects totaling more than $300 million. The partners met while sharing their construction expertise on a mission trip for First Presbyterian Church in Nashville; they established Baron + Dowdle in 2004. With more than 60 years of combined experience in the construction field between them, Michael and Glynn provide the vision and leadership to ensure that every project is completed on time and on budget.

As a general contractor, Baron + Dowdle offers planning and design, budgeting, construction management and the use of in-house trades. Bios

Michael Baron
Chief Executive Officer

For most of his life, Michael Baron has called Nashville home. He earned his degree in civil engineering from Tennessee Tech in 1975 and went on to work as an engineer for the Metropolitan Nashville Water Department. It was there that Michael discovered his talent for project management. He later worked for two regional commercial construction firms, eventually serving as president of each.

In 1988, Michael founded Corporate Construction Managers, Inc. (CCM). CCM completed projects that include Bridgestone/Firestone’s North American headquarters, a job that earned the company the citywide distinction of “Small Business of the Year.”

Michael and his wife, Nancy, have two daughters, one of whom works for Baron + Dowdle as a project manager. Michael enjoys traveling with his family and spending time in the outdoors. He is involved with the First Presbyterian Church Missions Council, Downtown Nashville Rotary Club and Boy Scouts of America. Michael is also an Eagle Scout.

Glynn Dowdle
Chief Financial Officer

A native of Charleston, Mississippi, Glynn Dowdle moved to Tennessee in 1977 after graduating from Mississippi College. Following a successful sales career, Glynn found his calling in the construction industry. He earned his Tennessee contractor’s license in 1984.  Glynn has worked in construction management since 1988, overseeing a number of government projects on the federal, state and local levels. Prior to forming Baron + Dowdle, Glynn headed Dowdle Construction. He takes a hands-on approach to his work, balancing the needs of clients, subcontractors, suppliers and employees.

Glynn is married to Brenda Measells Dowdle, a local attorney. They have twin daughters in college and are members of First Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
